Safeguarding Statement At Happy Hearts

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare, safety,
and well-being of all children in our care.
We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, secure, valued, and
respected, and we work tirelessly to create an environment where children
can thrive and learn without fear of harm.
We recognise our responsibility to protect children from abuse, neglect, and
exploitation, and we take this duty very seriously.
All staff members, volunteers, and visitors are expected to share this commitment.
Our Safeguarding Principles
Children’s welfare is paramount in every decision we make.
All children, regardless of age, ability, culture, race, language, religion, gender, or
background, have an equal right to protection from harm.
Early intervention and timely support are essential to keeping children safe.
Open communication with families and external agencies is encouraged to promote
the best outcomes for children.
What We Do Maintain robust safer recruitment procedures, including enhanced
DBS checks for all staff Provide ongoing staff training in safeguarding, child protection,
and recognising signs of abuse or neglect.
Follow clear, up-to-date policies and procedures in line with local safeguarding
partnerships and statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education
and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Ensure concerns are reported and recorded promptly and appropriately.
Promote a safe learning environment where children feel listened to and supported.
Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL)
Our nursery has trained Designated Safeguarding Leads who oversee all
safeguarding matters.
They ensure procedures are followed and act as points of contact for children,
families, and staff.
